To upgrade the VIN license on your VCDS interface we need to confirm the "Short" Serial Number of the interface.

This will be printed on the Ross-Tech label on the interface and will be in the format HNx-xxxxxx or H1x-xxxxxx.

We also need the "Long" Serial Number of your VCDS interface.

To find this:
- Connect your VCDS interface to the PC and a car, open VCDS, go to the Options page and click the Test button. This will check your interface cable.
Then click the Save button, and click the About button from the VCDS main menu.
The serial number will be displayed under the License Info heading on the left side of the page.
It should be around 40 characters long.
