Tesla cars don't have a combustion engine and therefore aren't covered by EOBD or OBD-II diagnostics legislation or required to have a standard 16-pin diagnostic port fitted. This special adapter cable can be fitted to the Tesla CAN-bus to provide a 16-pin diagnostic port allowing access to detailed Tesla information. Suitable for Tesla Model S and Model X vehicles produced up to September 2015 (12-pin) Recommended for use with the following smartphone apps (purchased separately): ScanMyTesla TM-SPY Our OBDLink MX+ Bluetooth diagnostic interface is compatible with this adapter and these apps. In the pre-Facelift Tesla model, the 12-pin Tesla Diagnostic Connector (TDC) is fitted below the MCU. To access the connector, the drawer below the main screen has to be pulled down. It's advisable to put a towel or cloth underneath to protect against scratches. This releases the front brackets of the console and the TDC can be seen behind the drawer. Connecting equipment to your Tesla is done entirely at your own risk. We cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to your vehicle through incorrect use of this product. |
