This is completely as described. I cant really leave it plugged in my diagnostic socket because mine has a big cover over it as its in a fuse box. Using this is still better than plugging the OBDLink interface directly into the cars socket because it probably reduces pressure on the socket. The little bit of extra length is useful too.
The plug and socket are all plastic, there is no rubber surrounding the connectors so Im guessing it may have been updated since the previous customer review.

Excellent or not depending on exactly what you require it for. If you want a permanently fitted extension cable (as suggested on the product description) then this product is perfect. If you want an extension cable that can be aligned with a cars socket much more easily (i.e. one that you are likely to plug in more frequently), choose one that has no rubber parts on the plug end. This cable has the male adapter around the pins on the plug end formed of rubber which means alignment requires more care than if it was solid plastic. The rest at both ends is solid plastic.
