For the DIY enthusiast this is a great way of learning what diagnostics is all about.
Im a professional mechanic,and i use this tool a lot.
No you cant compare it to high level tools that cost thousands of pounds.
Gendon offer a great after sales support, its a shame some of the big names dontt
offer the the same. I highly recommend this product.

my wife bought me this when I had a problem with my kia .
It worked fantastic would have cost over £100+ to just read code from main dealer it cost me £65 for parts to do it myself, And used it twice on two Peugeots worked good with them aswell. would recommend this product 100%

I purchased Engine Check Pro as to get MIL light faults analysed by my local garage costs around £50.
Software was easy to load onto a laptop and has been used many times this week to solve a lean running condition on my Mondeo ST220 and turn off the MIL many times. Aged vacuum hoses were the cause of air leaks / lean running.
Just need to get familiar with, and understand, all the live data that can be displayed.
ECP has saved me many pounds and I would recommend it to any home mechanic looking for diagnostic software that will clearly display live data in many forms i.e. numeric figures, graphs or data sets that can be recorded.

This is my second purchase as I had to upgrade it from an earlier version on an old laptop.
Paid for itself on first use when i used it to locate the source of an EML lamp on my own vehicle that was fixed with a £20.00 part.
the second use was more interesting as the second vehicle was having serious starting and running issues.
The franchise dealers do not routinely diagnose cars as part of the service. There were multiple faults with the vehicle some of them almost certainly design faults.
Although the eventual diagnosis and rectification was beyond my skills and tools. I would not have been able to get a satisfactory solution from the dealers without the information from my diagnostic tool to defend my case.

Excellent piece of Kit, having had nothing but trouble with my new pickup this is perfect to check and see if there is a major problem or just a minor glitch.
Would reccomend this to any DIY mechanic with todays cars having so much electronic tech.
It checks a whole host of sensors in real time and reads stored and current fault codes, and gives you the choise to extinguish the engine light.

I purchased my EngineCheck Pro USB Package in August 2008 solely to assist in diagnostics for my 2000 Ford Cougar and it was money well spent. Invaluable when I needed to trace faults and the kit is as good now as when i bought it.
I am now changing my vehicle for a Mitsubishi Shogun and I contacted GenDan to inquire if my EngineCheck Pro package was suitable for the new vehicle. I received in depth information the same day that wasnt focused on selling me new kit, which to me speaks volumes.
I highly recommend the GenDan EngineCheck Pro USB kit and also the company (and its British).

speedy service I ordered late Friday it arrived first thing Monday.
I am not a mechanic,but I like to do as much as possible now I have the Engine Check Pro I am able to do a lot more.
The engine check is so easy to set up use, I have just saved myself £106.00 by not taking my car to a dealership to tell me what my car needed, so it has paid for its self on the first use .
I would defiantly recommend this to piece of kit to any body. In fact I have a friend who is a mechanic Im going to show it to him I wouldnt mind betting he buys one.

Ordered the engine check pro which arrived really quickly. Nice and easy to set up on pc. Used it on four cars so far, again found it really easy to use. Lots of very useful information to help with diagnosis. Had a bit of a technical problem on one car and I sent an e-mail to Gendan for help. Received a response really quickly, sorted the problem out, top quality service. Thanks very much. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent product, with great support. I am a qualified mechanic and this suits my purpose. I have tried lesser products that people have bought from other sources (which dont work / or wont connect). I have connected to 10 cars since purchase and have been able to obtain the info I need. Well worth the money

Hi, Bought this item a while ago now after buying an Elm interface off Ebay which didnt last 5 minutes and obviously no support from seller.
What a difference buying from Gendan, item arrived next day and has never let me down, software is really good, easy to use and gives all the information you could possibly need. If all you need is OBD or EOBD and you want something thats going to work, you cant go wrong with one of these. I have other diagnostic equipment and scanners but with its ease of use and reliability I just grab my laptop and away we go!
