The following Service Light Reset Procedures are published here as described
by technicians working on these cars. We have not tested these procedures
and cannot accept any responsibility for damage/costs incurred resulting
from their use.

WARNING:
Resetting your service light is not a remedy for servicing your vehicle.
Only perform these procedures after an oil change/vehicle service and
obey your manufacturer's suggested service intervals.
Procedures
are available for the following manufacturers/models:
Audi A3 (1996-1999), A4 (1994-2001), A6 (1996-2000)
If the service is due on these vehicles, when the key is turned to position 2, one of the dashboard displays will show "Service INSP", "INSP1" or "INSP2" for Fixed interval services, and "SERVICE OEL / OIL" for the Oil Service interval.
The oil service reset procedure is as follows:
- Start with the ignition turned OFF
- Press
and hold the button on the right side of the display while turning the
ignition on (position 2)
- "Service OEL /
OIL" should be displayed
- Release the button on the right
- Pull out the button on the left side of the display until the service prompt is cleared
- The display should now read ---
- Release the button on the left
...then to access and reset the service information:
- Push the button on the right briefly
- "Service INSP" should show on the dash
- Pull out the button on the left side of the display until the service prompt is cleared
- The display should now read ---
- Release the button on the left
- Turn off the ignition

Audi A2 (2000-2005), A3 (2000-2003), A6 2000 to 2004)
These models support both Fixed Interval and Flexible Interval (Long Life) servicing.
If your car is programmed for Flexible Interval servicing, you will need a diagnostic tool to reset the interval. We recommend the Ross-Tech VCDS package for this:
For Fixed Interval servicing, you can use the following procedure:
- Start with the ignition turned OFF
- Press
and hold the button on the right side of the display while turning the
ignition on (position 2)
- "SERVICE IN xxx Miles / Kilometres" or "SERVICE !" should be displayed on the dashboard
- Release the button on the right
- To reset on the existing service schedule, press and hold the button on the left side of the display until the NEW distance or time value appears
- Release the button on the left
- Turn off the ignition

Audi A3 (2003-2009)
These models support both Fixed Interval and Flexible Interval (Long Life) servicing.
If your car is programmed for Flexible Interval servicing, you will need a diagnostic tool to reset the interval. We recommend the Ross-Tech VCDS package for this:
For Fixed Interval servicing, you can use the following procedure:
- Start with the ignition turned ON (position 2), but with the engine OFF
- Pull out and hold the button on the right side of the display until "SERVICE" appears on the display
- Release the button on the right, then within 5 seconds pull the button out and hold it again
- Release the button when the display shows "- - -" or "SERVICE IN xxxx Miles / Kilometres, xxxx days"
- Turn off the ignition

Audi A4 (2001-2007)
These models support both Fixed Interval and Flexible Interval (Long Life) servicing.

For Fixed Interval servicing, you can use the following procedure:
Below and to the right of the speedometer are three buttons - the right-hand button of these three is usually labelled "0,0", and the centre button labelled with a spanner/wrench symbol.
- Start with the key in, but the ignition turned OFF
- Press and hold the Spanner button, while turning the ignition on (position 2)
- Release the Spanner button
- "SERVICE" should now appear on the display
- Press and hold the 0,0 button until the display shows "SERVICE IN xxxx Miles / Kilometres"
- Release the 0,0 button, then turn off the ignition

Audi A8 (1994-2004)
These models support both Fixed Interval and Flexible Interval (Long Life) servicing.

For Fixed Interval servicing, you can use the following procedure:
Towards the bottom-right corner of the instrument cluster there should be a button labelled "0,0"
- Start with the key in, but the ignition turned OFF
- Press and hold the 0,0 button, while turning the ignition on (position 2)
- Release the 0,0 button
- "SERVICE" should now appear on the display
- Press and hold the 0,0 button until the display shows "SERVICE IN xxxx Miles / Kilometres"
- Release the 0,0 button, then turn off the ignition

Audi TT (1999-2006)
These models support both Fixed Interval and Flexible Interval (Long Life) servicing.
If your car is programmed for Flexible Interval servicing, you will need a diagnostic tool to reset the interval. We recommend the Ross-Tech VCDS package for this:
For Fixed Interval servicing, you can use the following procedure:
- Start with the key in, but the ignition turned OFF
- Press and hold the button on the right of the display, while turning the ignition one click (to position 1)
- Release the button on the right
- "SERVICE" should now appear on the display
- Press and hold the button on the left of the display until it shows "SERVICE IN xxxx Miles / Kilometres"
- Release the left button, then turn off the ignition

BMW 2001 to current
- Ignition
Off (Position 0)
- Press
and Hold the trip odometer button while turning key to position 1 (ACCESSORY)
- Keep
the button depressed (about 5 secs.) until you see "Oil Service"
or "Inspection" with "Reset" or "Re" in
the display*
- Press
the button again and hold for approx. 5 secs. until "Reset"
or "Re" flashes
- While
the display is flashing, briefly press the button again to reset the
Service Interval. After the display has shown the new interval you should
see "END SIA" for about 2 seconds
Note: that
if the "Reset" or "Re" does not flash, then you have
not met the minimum consumption level and cannot reset
*Note: On
vehicles with "High" cluster, you will also see the amount of
fuel (in litres) remaining until next service

Citroen - most models
- Start with the Ignition turned OFF
- Press and hold the Trip Reset button on the instrument cluster
- Turn the Ingition ON (position 2)
- The service display should count down from 10 to 0 until reset
- Release the Trip Reset and turn the Ignition OFF

Fiat 500 (2007-present), Panda (2004-present), Punto (2003-2006), Grande Punto (2005-2010), Punto Evo (2010-present)
On models fitted with the computerised menu system, you can check the number of miles until the next service by choosing Menu > Service.
To reset the service light, you will need to use a diagnostic tool.

Ford Galaxy
- With
the ignition off, press the reset button under the mileage counter
- Hold
in reset button whilst turning the ignition on
- After
about 4 or 5 seconds (up to 30 seconds in some cases) the display should
reset itself
- Release
the button and turn the ignition off
- It may
be necessary to repeat this process

Renault Clio (2005-present), Espace 4 (2003-present), Laguna II (2001-2007), Megane II (2002-2009), Scenic II (2003-2009), Twingo (2007-present), Vel Satis (2002-2009)
On most Renault vehicles, if the dashboard displays "SERV" or "SERVICE", this is NOT the service indicator light, but the engine management fault light.
To diagnose faults on this light you will need a diagnostic tool, such as the Autel MD704:
The service light on these vehicles is usually a spanner / wrench symbol. To reset that indicator:
- Turn the Ignition ON (position 2) but do not start the engine
(On cars with keycard ignition, insert the card, then press and hold the start button for 5 seconds to turn on the dash cluster)
- Press the button on the end of the wiper stalk repeatedly until the spanner symbol and miles to service appears on the display
(Some models have 2 buttons, which cycle through the options in opposite directions - either button can be used in this case)
- Press and hold the button
- The display will now change to the new service interval and start flashing
- Keep holding the button until the display stops flashing
- Release the button

Vauxhall Agila B (2008 onwards)
Fixed service reset:
- Start with key in but Ignition OFF
- Press and hold both buttons on the instrument cluster
- Turn Ignition ON
- Keep holding both buttons until the display changes from "InSP" flashing, to "- - - -"
- Release the buttons
- Turn Ignition OFF
- Turn Ignition back ON to confirm
Oil Service Reset:
- Turn the Ignition ON (position 2) but don't start the engine
- Press and release the throttle pedal 3 times within 5 seconds
- Turn Ignition OFF

Vauxhall - Most passenger cars 1999 onwards
- Start with key in but Ignition OFF
- Press and hold Trip Reset button on the dash
(on some models you may also need to depress the brake pedal)
- Turn Ignition ON
- Keep holding Trip Reset (and brake pedal) until the service indicator shows the appropriate interval
- Release Trip Reset (and brake pedal)
- Turn Ignition OFF
- Turn Ignition back ON to confirm

Renault Trafic (2001-present), Vauxhall Movano (2007- present), Vivaro (2007-present)
- Turn the Ignition ON (position 2) but do not start the engine
- Within 100 seconds of turning the key, press the accelerator pedal to the floor and hold it down
- While still holding down the accelerator, press and release the brake pedal twice, then press it a 3rd time and hold it down
- Release both pedals
- Within around 10 seconds, the Oil Service warning light should turn off
- Immediately Turn Ignition OFF, then within 3 seconds turn it back ON (position 2)
- Turn Ignition back OFF to complete

Volkswagen (with digital Odomoter)
The code
on the mileage display when you start the car will read "IN01",
"IN02" or similar. To remove this, use the following procedure
(this should work on any VW with a digital odometer):
- With
the key out of the ignition find and press the odometer reset button
(hold down)
- Turn
the ignition on (warning lights come on) wait about 10-15 sec until
most or the lights are off (still pressing odometer reset button)
- Turn
ignition off (button still pressed) and remove the key
- Release
reset button
- Interval
should now be reset. If this is not the case, repeat the above procedure

Volvo 1999-2000 - S / V / C70 Models
- Press
and Hold odometer reset button
- Turn
ignition switch to "run" position
- After
SRL flashes, release odometer reset button
- Turn
ignition off
- Turn
ignition back on to confirm reset

Volvo 1998 - S80 Models
- Turn
ignition switch to position 1
- Press
and hold the odometer reset button
- Turn
ignition switch to position 2
- Wait
until service light blinks and then release odometer button

Volvo 1999-2000 - S80 Models
- Turn
ignition switch to position 1
- Press
and hold "day counter reset button"
- Turn
ignition switch to position 2
- Continue
holding day counter for approx. 10 seconds
- After
SRL flashes, release day counter button
- Should
hear "beep-beep" to confirm command accepted

Volvo 2001 - XC 70 Models
- The following
steps must be completed with no longer than 5 seconds between each step:
- Make
sure the trip meter is in T-1
- Turn
ignition key to position 1
- Press
and hold trip meter button until zero is shown
- While
still holding the trip meter, turn key to position 2
- When
original trip mileage returns, release the trip reset button
- Turn
key to off
